Congratuatlions to the following wrestlers who placed at the Section 3 Championships held this past Saturday:
Ben Balish - First Place
Brendan Burnham - Third Place
Austin Killian and Andrew Wood - Fourth Place
Luke Esswein - Fifth Place
Our wrestlers will now go on to WPIALS, which will be held at Norwin High School this year. Wrestling begins on Thursday, March 1, 2012.

Congratulations to the Varsity Team coaches and wrestlers on a job well done! Last weekend at Counties, the team finished 6th in points - our highest finish yet, and 7 varsity wrestlers placed. After 758 matches in 2 days, the place winners were decided:
1st Place: Ben Balish
5th Place: Andrew Wood, Pat Kline and Brendan Burnham
6th Place: Austin Killian
8th Place: Luke Esswein and Dan Kline

The PR Varsity Wrestling Team had its best showing yet at the Burgettstown Invitational last weekend. Pine Richland placed 4th (out of 20 teams) in the tournament, our highest so far this year. A total of 10 wrestlers placed, including the following:
2nd Place: Ben Balish
3rd Place: Andrew Wood
4th Place: Luke Esswein, Mike Geyer, and Dan Kline
5th Place: Dylan Florentine, Matt Graf and Pat Kline
6th Place: Bryce DeLeon, Sam Kyle

The Pine Richland Varsity Wrestling Team started the season at the Eastern Invitational held at Gateway High School. Congratulations to the following place winners: Ben Balish claimed the championship @ 220, Dan Kline placed 2nd @ 195, Andrew Wood place 3rd @ 182, Brendan Burnham place 4th @ 145, Mike Geyer placed 5th @ 152, Austin Killian placed 6th @ 138 as well as Thomas Hyland who placed 6th @ 106. Way to start the season! |
